Everybody enjoys the sound of a perfectly thrown knife as it "thunks" into a target. The biggest problem is finding a knife that can take the stress of being thrown into wood over and over again. You have seen a lot of throwing knives in other catalogs that are made out of cheap steel, that bends, or stainless steel that breaks, that is why I have had my SKO frontier style knives made from T5160 super tough spring steel, which is tempered perfectly for throwing knives.
There are eight SKO frontier style models to choose from with leather or vulcanized fiber handles. The handles are attached with tough steel rivets. They can take the worst abuse any thrower can dish out and still last a lifetime with minimum care. The SKO frontier style knives have been produced and thrown in hundreds of Rendezvous and Muzzle Loading communities since 1992.
One big problem with hand made throwing knives is the time frame on delivery. There are a small number of knife makers who make decent throwing knives but some are extremely slow on delivery. I have a steady source on these knives with a maximum waiting time of (3 to 4 weeks, if they are not in my stock).
My personal set of SKO Model #17 have been thrown extensively for over 8 years and used in throwing my class's by over a hundred students, and are still as strong straight as when they were new.
I believe
the SKO knives are of the highest quality
frontier style
throwing knife available on the market today.
The SKO
knives can also be used as hunting, camping, combat and survival knives. Each
knife comes with genuine leather sheath and throwing instructions.
